In June 2025, SMM reported that the global iron ore shipment volume totaled 155.22 million mt, up 3.61 million mt MoM. Australia saw a significant increase in shipments, while Brazil experienced a slight rise. Shipments from non-mainstream countries declined slightly due to the drag from countries such as Iran and Peru. By mine, shipments from the four major mines all increased in June, with BHP and Vale showing substantial growth. By ore type, coarse powder, concentrate powder, and lump ore shipments increased, while pellet shipments declined slightly

. In June 2025, SMM reported that China's total iron ore port arrivals reached 109.97 million mt, down 350,000 mt MoM. Ports with significant increases included Rizhao Port, Lianyungang Port, and Jingtang Port. Ports with notable declines included Zhanjiang Port and Caofeidian Port. On a YoY basis, port arrivals increased slightly. By ore type, coarse powder shipments increased significantly, but concentrate powder and lump ore shipments declined notably due to the impact of a port accident in Peru and conflicts in the Middle East
